About the restaurant:
My first time here was for the ala carte dimsum fare on a Sunday. It was rumoured that this restaurant strictly serves its dishes fresh i.e. on order, and they only serve their very elusive but mouth-watering egg tarts on Sundays. All the dimsum were so good, I recently came here again with some friends for the buffet ala carte selection i.e. order what you want from the menu ($28++ for adults). Pros: Pretty good value for money as it comes with a complimentary Shark's Fin soup per person, and a 100g Steamed Tiger Prawns for each patron. A small selection of desserts were included too e.g. Herbal jelly, Mango Pudding, Red Bean Pancake (which mostly ran out). Cons: The menu consisted mostly main dishes as opposed to the dimsum fare. We had to pay extra for orders of Char Siew Pau, Har Gau and Egg Tarts.
Ordered Food:
Where do i even start?! Some of the main items were the Siew Mai, Beancurd roll, Crispy pork, Lotus Leaf rice, Fried beancurd, Steamed Patin fish (just about a quarter size), Chilli Prawns, Udon with black pepper beef (wasn't that great), Sweet and Sour pork, Broccoli with Crabmeat + five to six other dishes.
My verdict:
Pretty good value for money if you coupled in the Shark's Fin soup and Tiger Prawns. If i wanted a full-fledge dimsum meal, I'll stick to the ala carte version. If it's just an all out mission to shamelessly test one's stomach fortitude, the buffet is pretty worth it.
